the longest…shortest weekend

well it was a busy one, trying to catch all the left over flavor Summer had to offer. but it all started in the beginning of the week when my Feline Bella, got attacked by the neighbors viscous cat ,who just roams the neighborhood looking for trouble. Poor Bella..wrong place wrong time, and shes an old lady, stays 2 houses either way from us. so to the vets we went.. ,2 big wounds on her belly.. drugs..antibiotics shots.. still got off rather cheap..175.00. for the stories ive heard, ok shes healing fine, and doesnt even ask to go out on our deck poor thing.I had to change our plans a bit, as I was nervous about leaving her all week end.

so we did day trips , yep back and forth , from here and there…of course i bought a new Iphone in between.  i got a 6 not to be confused with the 6s. but its a 64 GB. so im set for a while:) but its taking for ever to set up, and with the new case its heavy. i always get a mophie, but this one is also waterproof. and if something happens to my phone.. the mophie peeps will get me a replacement !! not a bad deal

the new iphone 6
my mophie..regularly priced at 130.00 but i had an old iphone stashed away.. and .. got 100.00 taken off when i turned in the old 4..i was using it as an alarm clock
with the mophie case on its pretty thick

such an awesome day.. makes me sad to think what around the corner
we’ve been watching this boat all summer. this is the first tiem it was actually moving:))
welll i wanted a try to get a better pic. of this guy… but.. once again the new phone.. i got caught. He didnt say anything, but he got up and moved away

i fell in love with these, but .. i was told u have to take them in ,in the winter… i have enough to bring i all ready.. so i didnt get any 😦 wish i would have now
besides the fantastic art.. ..this event usually bring out the very artsy peeps too

i usually dont like running into people i know…usually… theres a few exceptions.. and these 3 are always on my list,(of peeps i love running into) i dont see them very often any more. lives just going in different directions….

the best part about this event .. its all local artists. and there was much to see, and people to look at and of course the food trucks showed up, and there was some live music..all free, another thing thats not all to common.

fantastic art.. some thing for everyone
fantastic art.. some thing for everyone

well thanks for stopping by. hope you have an awesome week.

a week end to myself

So the men went off camping in the 1000 islands. i had the week end to myself. i took myself to dinner and stayed out to catch a sunset right here in the village,on the Erie Canal. And then this morning i got up at 5am and went Downtown to the big farmers market, which we call the Public Market. Talked to a very interesting woman. Since we have been trying to eat according to the Paleo way of eating. I ‘v been making alot of our own food. I can ..I’m home. and i like to its a win win.

i always try to get to the market early… i don’t like crowds… and i guess a lot of others feel the same way
we are blessed with some of the best muck farming around.. in Western New York
so i finished my veggie buying spree and it was time for coffee
Billy and Bob were working mighty hard today.. the line was really long and i was in line at 7am
this is Philomina she prepares a healthier way to eat. and boy she gave me an excellent dish today
busy preparing another dish
yep thats her,
ohh wow, yep this is my breakfast, shes almost done
here we have roast sweet potatoes and plantains, with a a bit of red sauce on it, i have to tell you, I’m far from a fussy eater anyway.. and Dave and i will try anything at least once… but ill be back for more of this..till i buy the book and make my own:) this was what Phil called a small portion.. here it is a little after 11am, and I’m still very full. btw.. it as delicious , the flavors were something i cant describe
i don’t know what any of you do when your standing in line but i snap to my hearts content.. mostly because i don’t like to wait.. and this keeps me occupied
Phil also makes these bars and breads. i bought one for Dave.. with blueberries and other goodies in it. she uses honey for a sweetener.
right next to Phil is an olive oil company.. very good oils too!!
its still peach season here, with apples right behind them.. lets not forget my tomatoes..which i came to get:)
im so glad i go early, always can find a seat somewhere:)
and I’ll close with the sunset, which i got last night , in my village on the Erie Canal.

thanks for stopping by. have an awesome rest of the week end..or week:)!

Labor day week end

when ever we go on a day trip we always stop for lunch…and a cocktail of course:)

Main street
Main street Skaneateles Lake (/ˌskæniˈætləs/ or local /ˌskɪniˈætləs/)[1] is one of the Finger Lakes in central New York in the United States. The name Skaneateles means long lake in one of the local Iroquoian languages. The lake is sometimes referred to as “The Roof Garden of the Lakes” because its altitude (863.27 ft or 263.12 m) is higher than the other Finger Lakes.[2] It is 16 mi (26 km) long (17 mi or 27 km long including the bogs at the south end of the lake) and on average 0.75 mi (1.21 km) wide, with a surface area of 13.6 sq mi (35 km2), and a maximum depth of 315 ft (96 m). The cleanest of the Finger Lakes, its water is so pure that the city of Syracuse and other municipalities use it unfiltered. The City of Syracuse spends about 2.3 million dollars a year to protect lake quality, sixteen people inspecting (usually twice a year) each of the 2600 properties in the watershed, which is relatively small, compared to other Finger Lakes. William Henry Seward called it “The most beautiful body of water in the world.”
Taken from Wiki

i can see for miles and miles……… the prettiest finger lake.. and the cleanest. we generally only visit 2 or 3 of the 5 finger lakes.. mostly because there’s nothing to see on the other ones..unless your a fisherman.. we aren’t

just couldn’t get over how low these bikes were

i fell in love with these crates… maybe it was the wording.. shrimp..up here:)???

there were 2 boats working labor day week-end.. this was the dinner cruise one… it does almost the entire lake.. too long for me… and we just ate

while we waited for our boat… i watched these kids. , this lake is very cold.. didn’t even hit 70.. and the temp out side was 89
the guys were playing some sort of chicken game

then there’s the rude people who stand right in front of you, when you trying to shoot. .. and there’s no one else around…. WTH

ok… now we r on our boat.. i think it’s the mail boat. an hour ride, and some history. this is also the lake that the CLINTONS vacationed on know Bill and Hillary. but ill get back to that in my next blog…
a view b4 we could get on

i have always been intrigued by this setting, as many times as we have gone to this lake , i always have to get a shot.. it make me feel like I’m …some where else….in the world

a church we passed on the boat ride

not too many houses look like this on the lake.. theres a great deal of money here. a lot of “outsiders” come here for vacation

there are more this style” house” around the lake ..than not

and on our way home…. i caught this

i just got the biggest kick out of this..
i just got the biggest kick out of this.. it sits at a local restaurant, one of our favorite, and where we always stop for lunch

I’ve been retired for exactly 2 years now . I miss the Kids, and I miss some co-workers, i had the best Boss most of my career ..17 years. i don’t miss fighting traffic. and the stupidity of people, seems they could be the nicest person on earth ..but when they step into the ride… they think they are invisible. anyway, i thought id share a few of my memories…..
