October is almost Here

The reason i say October at least in the USA, its for breast cancer awareness.  i didn’t realize i havent been on here ,with my own blog ,for almost a month, its been a tough month, but September often is , but that another story for another day.

someone very close to me was recently diagnosed with a strange cancer, i know most everyone knows someone, or has had cancer themselves.. including me,Ive been clean for 25 years.

In 2012 about 14.1 million new cases of cancer occurred globally (not including skin cancer other than melanoma).[6] It caused about 8.2 million deaths or 14.6% of human deaths.[6][16] The most common types of cancer in males are lung cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer and stomach cancer. In females, the most common types are breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer and cervical cancer.[6] If skin cancer other than melanoma were included in total new cancers each year it would account for around 40% of cases.[17][18] In children, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and brain tumors are most common except in Africa where non-Hodgkin lymphoma occurs more often.[14] In 2012, about 165,000 children under 15 years of age were diagnosed with cancer. The risk of cancer increases significantly with age and many cancers occur more commonly in developed countries.[6] Rates are increasing as more people live to an old age and as lifestyle changes occur in the developing world.[19] The financial costs of cancer were estimated at $1.16 trillion US dollars per year as of 2010.[20]

My cousin(who happens to be my oldest friend) is still waiting for all of Her results to come back, while she did show me where  the Surgeons cut her open, i didnt think it was appropriate to post that image. but i can tell you her entire mid section(from the breast bone, to the bottom of her stomach) was cut open. Chemo will be in her future, and hopefully that will be that, we all pray!!!

this is a woman, who never smoked, hardly ever drank,  so if Ive done nothing today, maybe i talked someone into calling for a yearly appointment for a check up ,man or woman, things need to be checked..just like a car..so ..get on the phone and make your appointments!!! and i only tell you these things about my cousin . to do what it takes to get you to call and make an appointment.

when ever im upset ..or just plain confused about life in general..i always find it soothing to sit by a body of water. so this particular day, after seeing my cousin, My wonderful Husband took me to see my Grand Daughter  and sit by a lake.

even if you miss the sign to enter the mansion…there’s no way you can miss this fence

So that about does it for this tour. i hope if you stopped by, you enjoyed  yourself. i know i always do. its a big holiday here..Labor Day week end. …  the amusement parks  change their hours,(and soon will close, till next summer) what ever schools haven’t opened will be opened by Wednesday. im going to miss Summer in Western New York, at least this summer ,we had 25 days in in the 90’s, and twice and many in the 80’s.  so what ever you do this week end, enjoy, and remember …SCHOOL BUSES  are out, dont forget to stop when the reds are on, and slow down when the yellows are lit.

George Eastman built his residence at 900 East Avenue between 1902 and 1905. He created a unique urban estate complete with 10.5 acres (42,000 m2) of working farm land, formal gardens, greenhouses, stables, barns, pastures, and a 35,000-square-foot (3,300 m2), 50-room Colonial Revival mansion with a fireproof structure made of reinforced concrete.

Eastman’s house presented a neoclassical Georgian Revival facade of decorative craftsmanship. Beneath this exterior were such modern conveniences as an electrical generator, an internal telephone system with 21 stations, a built-in vacuum cleaning system, a central clock network, an elevator, and a great Aeolian pipe organ. Eastman used the house as a center of the city’s rich musical life from 1905 until his death in 1932.

The estate was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1966.[2][13]
