Black and White People

well here it is the end of the month and Fraggy and I do our little photo exchange thingy, this time it was B&W anything. My Brother-in-law came to town, so I figured I show him something’s that have changed since he’s been gone.. and I kept with the theme of B&W.

this is Ontario State Park.

we use to have a beach, a natural shoreline beach.. well Lake Ontario pretty much destroyed that this year. the floods were crazy bad, if you live along the lake

something about this photo I really love. this is the terminal building where the fast ferry use to be.. now we have restaurants by the water’s edge , which is pretty nice..if you can find a nice day

a newer establishment, along the river’s edge, I liked the old buildings

I’ve talked about the Public Market before, there was major work done over a long period, but it’s finally done and its really something to be proud of so this was my next stop with my brother-in-law

people come just for the cheap eats, and get together with their friends. it really is a great place to meet up.

cant you just hear this little boy begging mommy for a doughnut:)

gotta get some coffee

and theres always lots of music

every one is generally happy at the Market

and this guy was in such a hurry to get to the market, I don’t think he looked in a mirror:)

whatya need,we got it

can’t go home with out some kettle corn..can ya?

and how bout some organic foods… they got it all

and.. well it doesn’t matter where ya go any more, there’s always someone a bit down on their luck, this guy was going through the garbage looking for bottles and cans. in sure the cops will be behind him shortly.. at least to cover up:)

one of the last nites we say my Husbands Brother we took him to College town, and went to the beer garden. thank god there was liquor..I don’t do beer:) and I was able to get some really nice photos as well

and this guy just wanted to eat by the water

well thats my little city, Brother in law went back to kansas, and its been raining ever since.

Can you believe its the end of July already? I sure cant. the weather has been crazy. if you stopped by, thank you. have a great week-end.

The dinner cruise to end all

Well we splurged this year for July 4th , as soon as I knew it wasn’t going to rain, because we have seen our share this summer, nothing but rain and colder than usual summer. Anyway, the reason we took this kind of expensive dinner cruise, was to see the fire works in downtown Rochester,NY.  The tickets were 100.00 dollars apiece.  The cruise itself, was about 5 hours , we Are Not  nite people , and we felt it the next few days. The   Cruise started at 7pm and we didn’t return till 12:30 am. A very long trip.

the reserved line, gets on first
the music man is in the colorful shirt
have to have at least one cocktail.. and for $8.00  a drink , its all we  really wanted any way 🙂
before dinner treats.
as we left port, we are reminded how many low bridges we must  stay low for, and there were many!! i stayed below, till we got to the fireworks

we had to go through 2 locks  before leaving the canal, and entering the Genesee River, to head Downtown.

people love to watch the boats go through the lock system

some views of the locks at work, and a few of the bridges we had to go under

dinner was BBQ’d chicken, and spareribs, salt potatoes, salad, and rolls, and coffee or water.
the Captain, and as you can see she’s got a jacket it on
soo many people, if you’re gonna see fireworks, yep taking the boat was a grand idea, no crowds, no traffic 🙂
getting very close now.. just have to sit and wait
the city of Rochester,New York
the reason is perfectly clear now:)

well the ride home was cold and uneventful, except for some crazy people who were out in their little motor boats, trying to pass  the big boat,  so they could all get in the locks b4 us.

i enjoyed myself tremendously , but this was a 1 and done as they say 🙂

A Stroll Through the farmers Market

Most Saturdays I get up early and head down town, to a very crowded place, Called The Farmers Market. Every City has at least one big one, and today I thought id show you ours. voted #1!!  I’ve been to better, but ours has a friendly feel, so much so that people come just to meet their friends and have breakfast, here’s a link

hopefully it works?

so on this particular Saturday I met up with a photog  group, and we just strolled though, and I saw things id never seen b4, only because when I go to shop, for my veggies, that’s exactly what I do.

waiting for the rest of the group, we have artist come in yearly and they paint  🙂 Actualy all over the city. this would be a portrait of one of them
how bout some kettle corn
kimchee or Miso any one?

this product is the real deal,  boy was it ever dry, had to find some water fast.

cant go wrong with fresh greens
isn’t it beautiful, looks so much better than a bare wall
and if your still looking  for plants for your garden, well this would be the place.

and the best thing about a farmers market, …no middle man, most everything is cheaper

has any one ever used this in a cocktail /its an anise flavored spirit can be up to 90`148% proof, so needless to say you don’t need much of it.  here are 2 colored bottles but you can also buy it colorless traditionally  it is not bottled with any sugar, you can see the sugar cube on the glass in the middle. the gentleman told us you would pour the Absinthe over the sugar, the cube will melt. add ice and theres your drink.

moving on

hey guys need a new hat?
and this person  was selling Syrup for next week ends pancakes”)
every time I see wine displayed I think of my friend  CJ (Fragglerocks) lol, and the time they jumped the pond to visit us.
so moving on, I almost always never venture away from where the food is, but this day I went down another street, and saw vender who have their own shops, this man is a fire fighter, and he does the most beautiful things with iron.

well I didn’t buy anything , and I did have a great time meeting up with some new photogs. so after a couple of hours of walking around we met up at another spot

I had to get some water.

people come for the cheap eats, and meet up with friends, its a great place ,and people stay all day.

well its getting hot, and this  was a perfect day, but its getting very crowded now, and I must be on my way. I hope you enjoyed my walk thorough our farmers market. its Quaint, and very friendly. I love going to the city market, where ever we are, you can get a real feel for the city I think. if you stopped by, thank you, and have a most pleasant day, and rest of the week end.
