This past Mothers day ,we took a hike at One Of NY States #1 parks. Lovingly called The Grand Canyon Of the East. Letchworth State Park. Only 1/2 an hour from our house
this fine restaurant is home to many weddings and even just a lovely meal. we didn’t have a reservation , so there was not a chance in hell of eating there.
this is one of the best parks around and to have it so close to home, I’m not sure why we don’t go more often. but they also have camping here and ill save that for another time, we did walk around and look at all the types of cabins they had , I don’t camp!!!!!
if you stopped by , thanks so much, and if your ever find yourself around this are, make sure you take at least a ride through. this state park has so much to offer with its changing landscapes, and constant beauty.
Well its that time of year again, festivals every week end, sometimes over lapping, so one needs to pay attention, as to which one to go to… im not a fan of crowds at all, so where ever i go..i go early and leave in the middle.this last weekend, the fest.was in my little town,on the Erie Canal.
i had to park a good mile or more away, because im to cheap to pay ..upwards of 10 dollars. if i had a car full of people that would have been a different story, but i was alone…so here we go
and if you notice that snowy stuff..its dogwood..it makes a mess, its everywhere, for a few weeks.
well for what ever reason im having a terrible time on wordpress today… so..im going to leave now, and return in a few days with more?:) anyone else out there having problems? anyway, if you stopped by, thank you!! and have an awesome day… and a better week end:)!!
well I’m packing my suitcase and heading south for a few weeks, well only 2 , but that will take care of Jan. and if need be ill go straight back down there if feb. is bad. so I’ve been busy with the newest member of my camera family My Fujifilm X T10. and I’ve been also busy purchasing gear for it. since it has a retro look,i just received. my retro case. and later today my zoom lens should arrive.
and that does it. im so happy with my new camera. im actually going to sell My DSLR when i return from Florida. if you stopped by, i hoped you enjoyed my little tour around the neighborhood, a little different than my last blog..eh:)!
and thanks. Have an awesome rest of the week. next time i post.. ill be in sunny Florida.
As i have said before I’m not a fan of this month at all, weather wise, or people wise, the weather doesn’t know what its wants to do,although we have been very lucky this year. and then there’s the people… People of all shapes, coming at you, from every direction, and in the USA there’s Thanksgiving..which mean there’s always a big get together some where….. and that usually means travel… maybe i wouldn’t mind so much if we were going some where warm(er)..beaches and sunshine..you know:)!!!and of course people have begun shopping for Christmas.. so traffic is crazy, stores are crazy..it drives me crazy :)!!! jus’say’n! so with our any more of my complaining or whining, and i don’t mean to, let me get to what ive been doing.
thanks for taking time to stop by, and if u celebrated i hope your feast was a good one. lets all be thankful for what we have by sharing with others, especially the less fortunate.
Ive never been a fan of this month, and i don’t think old man winter cares for me either, the cold winds of Canada and the warm breezes of the South fighting with each other, around the Great Lakes, leaves me in such misery, seems im always living on some kind of Pain meds. for my head.. I’m not complaining.. really I’m not ,i know it could be much worse, its just a fact of life for me.
so .. we have had our share of good weather, no snow this year, last year most places had well over a foot, in some cases..closer to the lakes. (Lake Erie and Lake Ontario) 5 ft!!!!!!!
so on the few days i was in town, and not running around, i took a self guided tour.. and this is what i found.
so i had to go home again (where i grew up) to take care of Mom. She still needs help with Laundry and grocery shopping, still cant drive yet, or bend. even though im not all that far away, its amazing how 1 night away can gum up the works. Of course sleeping on a sofa doesnt help. but..i do what a can.so my reward was meeting my Brother in Law to shoot for a little bit. We met up on the west side of Buffalo, in a neighborhood called Elmwood Village. and of course had to go to a unique coffee house called SPoT. we walked and walked, and then i headed for my Home, to care for my own family, the felines were angry. what else is new?!!and later in the week , after i caught up on my sleep ,in the comfort of my own bed captured a few subjects:) so here we go……….
i hope you enjoyed the little tour, have a wonderful rest of the week end, and a super week
By now anyone who reads my blog Knows , I’m not the normal photog:) i shoot what i like ,when i like. and i dont have any particular method, that seems to vary, from day to day..still ,after all these years. i get bored easily. well today while we were driving around we ran into a different type of Halloween parade.. so with out further ado …
i thought I’d better take advantage of the day, sun shinning and being in the 50’s. so i did what my good friend Mary Smyth does, i took a walk in the near by village, (My Village in My town). with camera in one hand and iPhone neatly stashed away on my shoulder, and started to walk , the weirdest things were happening. people would ask me crazy questions.. they thought i was a Realtor.. and then…. the cops came..
yep, nice and slow.. around and around the blocks they went ..just watching. i was prepared if i was questioned:) i personally know the Chief..and His Wife:) , its true i rub elbows with the elite … lol. anyway, after i got what i needed i decided.. why take chances? and i also felt good, knowing some one must have called them as said, there’s a stranger walking all around..taking pictures. makes me feel just a little safer.
anyway these are a few of the shots i got, i might have to go back over there this week end (if its not raining..or snowing) just to see the kids.
